ALL THE KINGS MEN [vs King Royal] Empty ALL THE KINGS MEN [vs King Royal]

Wed Dec 02, 2020 1:06 am
“The wall was remarkable. Tall, tidy and well kept. Upon it sat Humpty Dumpty. He looked around him and saw the kingdom he called home struggling. Drowning. And – full of shock and awe – he was overcome and froze, until – suddenly – crash.

The implications of his fall were huge, for word spread throughout the kingdom – poor Humpty had cracked, poor Humpty had splintered, how on earth could they fix him?

All options were discussed, and a kingsguard was assembled and sent to the foot of the wall to fix him. The kingsguard removed him – all of him – from the scene and tried for hours to rebuild him to his splendour. The finest surgeons were all called to the kingdom, but nothing could be done. Humpty was broken beyond repair. All the kings horses, and all the kings men, couldn’t put Humpty together again.

The whispers came next. The path to the top of the wall was in full view of the kingdom’s marketplace, surely someone must have seen him? Why did nobody stop him climbing? They must have known it was too risky.

Each person who had thought nothing of poor Humpty climbing the path to his inevitable fall suddenly realised the consequences of their inaction. They all realised that by doing nothing as Humpty ascended the wall, they had caused this. Their inaction had caused destruction.

Feeling guilty, denial followed the whispers – nothing they could have done would have helped, right? He’d have climbed that day anyway. It was unavoidable. But there is always a choice. They made the choice to allow him passage to the wall, and they watched as he came crashing down.

All they had to do was act early enough, and they could have stopped him. If they had asked him not to climb, if they had locked the door to the stairs leading to the top he may have not climbed. And even if he had passed, the kingdom had mattresses aplenty, and water, and sheets, they could have prepared for the fall, they could have been proactive.

But they were not proactive, they were reactive, and their kingdom saw tragedy, just as King Royal’s will if he continues to ignore the tragedy unfolding before him. Old School Wrestling – just like Humpty – is slowly ascending to great heights, and it is only a matter of time before this war, this apocalypse, sends the egg tumbling to the ground, fractured beyond repair. But we’ve not yet reached the peak. There is hope, but Royal has sneered at this hope.

I am holding a lifeline to you, King Royal, to save your people, and to save the whole kingdom of OSW, but if you will not listen to reason, I will have to make you see sense at State of Emergency. It is my last chance to show you just how much of an emergency we are in. We can stop this tragedy, but we do not have time on our side.

Make the choice to stop this, Royal.

Let us finish this, before it truly begins.”
